Shashank began his Law School by fighting for legal rights for social causes and successfully contested consumer cases for deficiency of service and unfair trade practices by . During his Law school, his internship mentors paved way for his future. Shashank believes his internship in firms like Indus Law, Trilegal, Oasis Advisory and lawyers such as Uday U. Lalit (Now a judge of Supreme Court), ASG Harin P. Raval, Mr. RV Prasad, Mr. Roop Vasudeo, etc got him a first-hand experience on several avenues of law at a very early stage in his career.
He also did a judicial clerkship with Justice Vikramjit Sen (then a judge of High Court of Karnataka, Justice Sen was later elevated to Supreme Court.) and assisted Justice Sen in passing several judgments including a Full Bench judgment reported in Jayamma v. the D.C., Chitradurga as reported in ILR 2013 KAR 1489. Therefore, Shashank firmly believes he understands the mindset of Bar as well as the Bench. Shashank credits all his mentors for nurturing the early days of his career.
He has undertaken several pro-bono activities to save the environment and other social issues including running a mass campaign for Late-Night Public Transport in Bangalore. Shashank believes that a lawyer knows the law and can assist the society.
Subsequently, there was no stopping for him. Having dealt with cases of all areas of law. Shashank has handled criminal matters such as Anticipatory bail, 438, 439 of CrPC, cyber crime complaints and dealt with an international criminal law case, currently sub-judice.
He has also argued variety of civil and commercial disputes before civil court and before arbitrators. He is also dealing with complaints before National Stock Exchange (IGRP and Arbitration Tribunal).
He has successfully drafted trademark applications, copyright applications and has dealt with patent related injunction in Andhra Pradesh, Vishakapatnam, Solan, Shimla, Pondicherry and Bangalore for Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories.
He has appeared and successfully argued before Company Law Board (Chennai), NCLT (Bengaluru), High Court of Karnataka (Dharwad and Bengaluru Bench), Supreme Court of India are some of his noteworthy moments.
Shashank assisted in incorporation of Science Gallery Bengaluru, a Section 8 Company proposed by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka and chaired by Dr. Kiran Mazumdar Shaw would be the first of its kind Science Gallery in Asia, based on Science Gallery Dublin Model. The Gallery is associated with partner institutes such as Srishti Institute of Art, Design & Technology, Indian Institute of Science and National Centre for Biological Sciences.
He is also dealing with international commercial arbitration in London and international trade disputes in Canada currently.
